Recipe Courtesy of Paula DeenServings: 6 servings
Cook Time: 1 hour
Difficulty: Easy
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 cup fresh bread crumbs
1 onion, diced
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 (8-ounce) cans tomato sauce
3 tablespoons vinegar
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup water, to thin sauce if necessary
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Mix together the beef, bread crumbs, onion, egg, salt, pepper, and 1/2 cup of the tomato sauce. Form this mixture into a loaf and place it in a shallow pan. Stir together the remaining tomato sauce, vinegar, sugar, mustard, Worcestershire and the water (if too thick). Pour this sauce over the meatloaf. Bake for 1 hour, basting every 15 minutes with the pan juices.
Cook’s Note: Try serving as a sandwich with mayonnaise.

Mmmmmm. So good. Brings out your inner glutton. Don't know if I prefer on night number one with some good veggies, or as a lip smackin' good sandwich on day 2. It doesn't last til day 3. Made this recipe several times and it never disappoints. Comfort food at it's finest!

This is my family's favorite meatloaf recipe. I saw Paula make it on her show with her boys a couple of years ago. It looked delicious and then the boys made sandwiches with it. I tried it and it is now a favorite meal when my kids come home for dinner. It truly makes an awesome meatloaf sandwich, but don't skimp on the mayo. I'm visiting in England and was away from my recipes and my Lady and Sons cookbook, so I looked it up on the web and was pleasantly surprised it was sent to my facebook page. Thanks Paula!

Made this tonight for dinner.. oh my goodness, such a treat! I used 93/7 lean ground beef and it did really well! I used a little less bread crumbs, a little more tomato sauce and baked it in a metal loaf pan (because I used the leaner hamburger). Thank you Paula! This is deffinately a keeper, nice twist on the classic. I also did one of the Garlic Mashed Potato sides as well. Quite yummy!

This is the BEST meatloaf recipe and it is now the only way I will make a meatloaf and have for about 3 years now. We also use the leftovers for sammies the next day! I really haven't found one recipe by Paula that I didn't love. God Bless ya Paula and family!

This truely is the best meatloaf I have ever eaten. It has become a family favorite,so I make it quite often. I don't use as much onion as it calls for because we are not huge onion fans, other than that, I stick to the recipe. We actually love the extra sauce.

This is the best meatloaf ever. I cook it for an extra half hour because my husband said it was too moist. It turned out perfect. I cut back on the onions, just too much. Thanks Paula, you are a wonderful cook. D. Peyton

I really didn't care for this meat loaf. It didn't have the sweet bite that I like in mine. Think I'll stick to my recipe.
