Ingredients

  • 1 (12 oz) container frozen whipped topping, thawed, or equal amount sweetened whipped cream
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 (5 oz) box instant French vanilla pudding mix
  • 6 to 8 bananas, sliced
  • 2 bags chessmen cookies

Preparation

Line the bottom of a 13x9x2-inch dish with 1 bag of cookies and layer bananas on top.

In a bowl, combine the milk and pudding mix and blend well using a handheld electric mixer. Using another bowl, combine the cream cheese and condensed milk together and mix until smooth. Fold the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture. Add the cream cheese mixture to the pudding mixture and stir until well blended. Pour the mixture over the cookies and bananas and cover with the remaining cookies. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

I had this at a friends house last weekend. I suppose if you're lazy, and you and your guests aren't put off by a "cheap" tasting banana pudding made with artificial flavors and colors, this recipe will do the trick. However, it's absolutely no substitute for "real" banana pudding made on the stovetop with egg yolks, milk, sugar, and butter.

I made this last night for a girls nite dinner at my BFF's house this evening. It was so easy, and it taste so good. This will be my go to recipe from now on for all my family affairs. It's so much better than the Banana Pudding that I was taught to make when I was younger. Can't wait for the ladies to taste this tonite... Thanks Paula!

I have been serving this dessert since I first saw it aired many years ago. It always gets me rave reviews and I never take the credit giving it all to you Paula. Being a Boston Boy, Banana pudding was not a dessert that was served in my home growing up. Now in the south and with your help I am slowly becoming a Southern Gentilman.....I cannot cook unless I have one of my Paula recipes in front of me.....Your Simply The Best, Better Than All The Rest...Thank You Paula
