I haven’t done the tour, but I’ve seen several mentions of it across the boards. Tell me about it. Not just what the tour company wants me to know, tell me what you liked, what you didn’t, what was for lunch, was it worth it. . .
I’m planning my April sojurn to Savannah and after hearing what seems to be glowing reviews, I’m considering it.
Oh, yes it’s worth it. You will tour through the historic district of savannah stopping at some
of the shops you see paula shop in on her show. You get lunch at uncle Bubba’s.
You also will receive a gift bag full of goodies. It was great, I would do it again.
I’ve done the tour and I thought it was pretty good. The food was really good at Bubba’s and we even got to meet him, what a nice guy!!! I would do the tour again.
It is SO worth it! You learn so much about Paula and what she went through to get where she is now. I really enjoyed it b/c it seemed like we got to take a condensed journey of Paula’s experiences in Savannah. It’s something I would definitely recommend. It was a good experience. We met several people and actually met two different couples that we knew from the past. How ironic! There was nothing I didn’t like about it. It was great. For lunch at Uncle Bubba’s, they had a room set up just for us with a buffet. They had a low country boil, bbq, mac n cheese, squash casserole, pinto beans, greens, bread, etc. They also came around with a tray of oysters. For dessert we had banana pudding. They had homeade lemonade, which was so good! Everything was great, and everyone was so nice!

If I’m not mistaken, Old Savannah is the ONLY tour company that does the Paula Deen Tour.
I don’t know if Bobby still does this but when we took it the driver picked Bobby up in front of the restaurant and he rode around a few blocks with us. He signed autographs and answered questions. He was great. If you are a Paula fan, make this part of the trip.
We did the Old Savannah Tour, they picked us up at our hotel, we even registered for the tour at the hotel. Everyone was so nice and friendly. We went also to the Church were Paula was married, a cookie factory, the market where Paula shops. Lunch at Bubba’s. The tour then returned us to our hotel.
We received a goody bag with passes to the Lady and Sons, which allows you to not have to stand in line. There were serveral wonderful other gifts in the bag.
Everyone on the Bus was so friendly, because we all love Paula. It was just a wonderful day.
Sounds like a question for one of our intrepid administrators/fearless leaders - Phil or Michael (PP the Peas).
Phil, Michael - Hello? Is there anybody in there? Just post if you can hear me. Is there anyone at home?
I don’t know if you can (or should, or would) endorse one tour over the other, but can either of you tell me if there is any substantial difference between the two Paula Deen Tours that I found?
Old Savannah Tours $49 (Orange and Green Bus) vs. Old Town Trolley $56 (White Bus)
Or is there another one that I’ve missed?
The biggest difference I’ve seen is the price. The Old Savannah site content seems to indicate that they are endorsed by Paula. Maybe they both are. Any help is appreciated!

What an excellent question Lt. and my answer is that I have no idea what the difference is. I will however find out.
Folks from our company have taken both tours and we send someone every now and again to sort of ‘secret shop’ them to make sure things are still going well. I know that both tours are indeed endorsed by Paula and they both include lunch at Bubba’s.
