7-up Apple Dumplings

2 large Granny Smith apples, peeled & cored
2- 8 oz. cans refrigerated crescent rolls
1 stick butter
1 can 7-up
1 C. sugar
2 Tbsp. cinnamon

Use a dutch oven large enough to accommodate all apples in one layer because they’ll rise/expand when cooking.

Cut each apple into eight pieces, then wrap each piece in one crescent roll.

Melt 1 stick of butter in the bottom of the dutch oven and roll each piece in the melted butter before placing them in the bottom of the pan.
Mix the cinnamon and sugar, then sprinkle the mixture over all the apple pieces. Carefully add the soda so you don’t wash the cinnamon-sugar mixture off the dumplings.

In a conventional oven, bake for about 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

This is good served warm with vanilla ice cream, even better with cinnamon ice cream.

Give a man a fish and he’ll eat for a day.  Teach a man to fish and he’ll sit in a boat drinking beer all day.
