Thanks, also, for the soap recipe…who knew?!

Funny thing, just this afternoon, I got out a book that I bought about a year ago that shows how to make bar soaps, liquid soaps, and a variety of others. It is of those things that went on my “One day I’ll do it”, list.

I have used handmade soap for several years now and i never would think of buying a bar of reg store soap anymore .. I barter for alot of my soaps ..and my oils and shea butters that i use in my items..so i actually only have pennies involved in their cost.

Nice blog Simple Needs!  I’ve been using basically that same powdered recipe for the last 8 months, we love it.  The clothes are just as clean too.  I use a hand grater for the soap, and grate while watching tv, lol.  Also, just to note, this soap does not make much lather or bubbles, many people have been lead to believe by the media that if it doesn’t lather it isn’t working, but that just isn’t the case!  In fact, the ingredient that makes it lather also hurts the environment, causes phosphates I think, so homemade soap is better to use too.

another note:  I do not have a front lidded washer (I use a top loader), but they say you CAN use this soap in the top loaders with no problems, you may have to use less though.  Also, be sure it doesn’t void your warranty before using (or use after the warranty has expired).  I understand that the front loading detergent is also low lather, but it’s more expensive.
