My husband and I had the pleasure of joining the Deen family for the 2nd Paula Cookin at Sea cruise aboard the
Liberty of the Seas. Is their going to be a 4th cruise this year? It should be against the law to have as much fun as
we did!!! Thanks
I went on the cruise to Alaska with Paula and family for 2008. We had a great time. Alaska was beautiful! We took over 1,000 pictures! I would love to go on another cruise with Paula….the cruise was hosted by Cruise One from Greenville, SC. We did not have a good experience with them. I will not go with the Greenville, SC office again. I along with others have voiced our concerns with the home office of Cruise One in Florida. I have been on many cruises so I knew what to expect—-the Greenville SC office just couldn’t handle this large group. I have booked with other SC offices (since I live in South Carolina) and it was always smooth sailing. We have a huge group of friends who go on a cruise every two years. We live in a small town and the joke is there is no one left in town because they have all gone cruising.
Sorry to hear about your disappointment. We were going to take that cruise but decided to wait. We ended up going on the Mariner of the Seas out of Port Canaveral. This is very conveint since we live in Orlando and we did not have to deal with all those airline surcharges. If your travels ever lead you to Orlando I have a couple of great hotels near the Disney area.

DH and I were on the Mariner in May 2008. Loved it!!! We are taking the sister ship, the Adventure out of San Juan on our next cruise. Cruising rocks!
Congratulations with your new expected baby, Brooke! Are you naming her after Paula Deen’s daughter-in-law? Brooke is a beautiful name! We are going on the Grandeur of Seas out of Tampa in February. I can’t wait. In Cozumel we are taking the “Mexican Cuisine Workshop & Tasting” excursion. Everyone gets their personal chef to assist you with cooking a entire tradional Mexican meal and then everyone eats. Should be fun because my husband can’t even boil H2O! LOL. I am hoping to bring back the receipes for our chef’s at our Orlando hotels. Count Down to Baby Brooke!!!

Lol…no, she is not named after Brooke Deen. I like celebs as much as the next person but I dont think I would name my child after one or their family. I just like that name…it is very pretty.
My DH and I love to eat on cruises. Some of the spreads they put out are fabulous. And, the mixed drinks are pretty good too. No cruises this year due to baby coming but we are scheduling this year for the one we are taking next year. I want to take her on a Disney cruise wen she gets a little older too. Have fun on your Feb cruise…I am very envious!
They also had a “Tequlia Tasting party” but thought that might get me in trouble! LOL. Disney Cruises are great! Keep me in mind for your Orlando accommodations and I will hook you up!

I too was on the Alaska cruise and while seeing the sights of Alaska was beautiful, and seeing/interacting with Paula and her family was amazing, I was very unhappy with the service provided by Cruise One. Since this was my first (and hopefully not my last) cruise with Paula, I’m not sure if they always go through Cruise One, but I sure hope that they reconsider who they use next time. I’m sure that all of the family and extended family were treated perfectly, but those of us who were simply Paula fans were not treated so well. I’m not going to get into the details because I would be on here all night, and besides, this forum is supposed to be fun and not about complaining, but I do sincerely hope that Paula and “her people” consider alternative travel agencies so that Cruise One does not reflect negatively on such a great woman and family.
Hey Carolina Cook, I’ll be posting info about the next cruise soon. Can’t give any details yet, but I can tell you we are working with a new travel agency.

Phil, would this be the “SSPP” you mentioned earlier today?? You’ve got our attention!

That is good to hear, Phil. We booked on the first Paula cruise and had to cancel due to a medical emergency. It took us over a year to get our refund and we had Trip Cancellation Insurance. It was a horrible experience. We do hope to go again.
Great news and great timing! I came very close in booking a 7 day cruise this morning for Sept 2009.
This is awesome news and glad the Deen family will continue this event.
Can’t wait to see what the new agency comes up with!
Have a wonderful day.
Cheers,

Phil, that is great news! I hate to take business away from a company, especially during these tough economic times, but I’m glad that the decision was made to go with another agency. Not only did they not represent Paula well in my mind, but Paula, along with her family and fans, deserve better.
We have been trying to communicate with the agency’s corporate office since September of last year, and the only response we got back was from the local agency saying that had not received complaints from anyone else, which I know is a lie because they got at least 3 individual letters of complaint just from our group alone.
We had said amongst ourselves that we probably wouldn’t go on another Paula cruise if it were with the same agency, so I’m very happy now that you all will be working with someone else. Let’s go cruisin’!
Just spoke with the cruise folks and found that I can at least tell you it will be on January 24th on the Celebrity Solstice which I believe is one of their newest ships.
