12 Christmas’, 7 Thanksgivings and 1 Really Good Giblet Gravy

As of today, we in Paula Deen land, have worked on 12 Christmas shoots and 7 Thanksgiving shoots both for editorial and advertising.  You would think by the third or fourth, any creativity and inspiration is gone…really, how many new Thanksgiving sides can you create and how many different things can you make with a styrofoam ball or a sea shell?  At times I feel more like an Aerospace Engineer in Mission Control for Apollo 13 than a stylist…here is some duck tape, a feather and a recipe card…we need an ornament stat!

Well, I am happy to report I never tire of creating a new holiday gift idea and most assuredly never tire of holiday recipes like Southern Cornbread Dressing and Giblet Gravy.  At a video shoot just a few days ago, I made what Aunt Peggy reluctantly called “really good” giblet gravy.  It was as if it was actually Thanksgiving Day…Only if my own grandmother, Lula Mae, said this would I have been any more proud….who cares if it was just for a video camera and a faux holiday celebration…Aunt Peggy said it was “really good”.

Laugh a lot this week and eat something home grown,

I LOVE SEEING YOUR RECIPE'S EVERY DAY AND YOU MAKE THEM SO SIMPLE TO CREATE I am a Senior and confined to my home and you lift me up each and every day with your Video's and your beautiful Southern Accent. I have always dreamed as a little girl of going to Savannah Georgia it is beautiful there from seeing it on tv and New Orleans. You would love our province surrounded by the most Beautiful Beaches and the Friendship and Hospitality here is amazing. Regis and Kelly came here last year and fell in love with the place. Regis being in his 80's said he would love to have a Summer Home here and Kelly said she was coming back to visit every year. A Happy Thanksgiving to you and your Husband and family and friends.
