Here in Savannah, we enjoy warm, sunny days almost all year-round, but come summertime, it gets so hot that we take advantage of any available place to jump in the water or at least enjoy a cool breeze! And what better way to accompany a day of waterside fun than easy, finger-food snacks with dips! Whether you’re spending the day at the beach, looking for a hearty classic to bring to a picnic at someone’s house, or throwing a pool party, we’ve got the perfect suggestion for every occasion…
Bring to the Beach - Lighter Dips to Bring to a Picnic
Black-Eyed Pea Dip Ring in the summer with this colorful dip filled with vegetables like bell peppers, jalapenos, pimentos, corn, and black-eyed peas, tossed with a tangy dressing, and chilled for a while so its flavors marinate – a lean and enticing option that holds up at room temperature.
Lightening Fast White Bean Dip Get some pita and some carrot sticks, and impress fellow beach revelers with a satisfying high-protein, low-fat dip, thrown together in the food processor with white kidney beans, lemon, and spices.
Avocado Dip Go simple and healthy our avocado dip, with cilantro and lots of lime juice to keep it refreshing and brightly colored.
Veggie Crudites with Light DipThe Roquefort cheese in this light dip will make you forget you’ve used light cream ingredients.
Pool Party Hits - Bite-sized items best served right off the grill (or out of the fryer), for when you are hosting or can cook on the spot.
Grilled Artichokes with Bacon and Rosemary DipMake this delicious bacon-rosemary dip in advance, chill it, and serve with grilled artichokes halves and lemon, so refreshing – and tasty.
Chicken Satay with Peanut Butter BBQ Sauce Marinate the chicken ahead of time in peanut butter barbeque sauce, enhance the remaining marinade with extra peanut butter, and savor these grilled skewers.
Southern Fried Oysters Welcome a Savannah favorite into your life: freshly shucked oysters battered with hot sauce, breaded, fried, and served with a mixture of Paula’s Vidalia Onion Peach Grilling Marinade and sour cream. Yum!
Fried Green Tomatoes with Vidalia Onion Relish For another Savannah (and Southern) favorite, whip up this zesty dip of diced Vidalia onions and brown sugar a few hours ahead, and serve with fried green tomatoes.
Jalapeno Bottle Caps with Blue Cheese Dip These beer-battered poppers and zesty blue cheese dip will keep any spice-lover coming back for more.
Take and Bake - No-fuss snacks to bring to someone’s house to throw in the oven when convenient.
Italian Chicken Sticks Coat chicken with melted butter and seasoned breadcrumbs, bake them off, and serve them with marinara or honey mustard sauce for a low-maintenance snack to please everyone.
Oven Fried Potato Wedges You pick your favorite dips and sauces to accompany these baked fries, tossed in cornbread dressing mix for a healthier “fry” with an extra-crispy punch.
Sausage Balls Meat lovers will be singing your praises for these fun, bite-sized sausage and cheddar balls baked and served with mustard-mayo dip.
Savannah Hot Crab Dip A larger Savannah-style dish for a hungry crowd; garlicky, jack-cheese filled, flavor-packed crab dip you can make in no time.
Remember to bring a cooler or ice and find a shady spot for your food if you will be out in the sun for a while, make sure you have your favorite crackers, toast points, assorted vegetables, or chips, and have fun!

Happy belated 1st birthday to little matthew. We so heart Jamie;s new cooking show. Can;t wait to see it each Sat. loved the show u did June 19, on the summer salad dishes, will sure give them a try, yum-yum. You send just the right things our way, enjoyed Rodney henry cooking with you, I wanted to jump right into the tv. and enjpy the pot pie, oh yes. a big pile of creamy mashed potatoes along side would have really set it off. Keep the dishes coming. So loved watching u and jack and jamie in your garden and hen house. When i resided in Norther Okla. my neighbor had Rhode island reds and I so miss the fresh eggs, my 14 year old first grand daughter and child was 2 at the time and she loved going to gather the eggs when we watched our neighbors home, and picking cherry tomatoes from our huge garden. u tell sweet little Jack i love me a huge plate of butter beans or baby lima as they call them up here in ct. I don;t mind the AIR- no pun intended, lol. Sure will be a delight someday to see what precious children Bobbi has. i so agree with you my dear, my 6 grandaughters and 3 grandsons are my delight. Nothing better in life for sure. Hugs from Ct. Rosie We would love to see you and Michelle and Brooke cooking together sometime.

Look Forward to receiving your emails. Unfortunately when I try to access any of your recipes, I get a blank screen with the diagnosis problems. Perhaps you could look into this problem...Thank You Nancy
