I don’t know how many cookbooks I own exactly…it’s a sickness. To anyone who has visited my house they know that one stack in particular (comprised of my favorites) lives in a corner of our living room with a mid-century light fixture atop creating a tres chic floor lamp. (referred to in our house as “the lamp pile”)
I knew even before I met Virginia Willis (this week’s Guest Cook in Paula’s Kitchen) I would be a fan. What’s not to love? A French trained chef with a Southern pedigree and one of the most beautiful cookbooks I have ever seen, Bon Appetit Y’all. As a food stylist, I have a deep appreciation for the beauty of a cookbook….from the quality of paper used to the type choice and, of course, photography and styling. Add heartfelt family stories along with Southern recipes with a French twist and, Sweet Virginia, you had me at Bon…
I’m happy to report, Bon Appetit Y’all currently resides atop “the lamp pile”.
Have a great week and eat something homegrown,
Libbie
