Homemade Gifts!

We have had such a fun time in the kitchen with Paula these last few months…creating delicious and fun gifts to make for the holidays. Some were more successful than others, like Otis’ Cheesy Dog Treats (a gift for Paula’s middle dog). Apparently there wasn’t enough cheese in them the first round because he ran over to the cooling tray, gave it a whiff and ran away! We all howled with laughter. Two hours later, we tried again and all got the giggles when he stood in the middle of the tray and slid around like an air hockey puck trying to eat them all. Paula said Otis has never met a dairy product he didn’t like!

Paula’s homemade gift inspiration this year was her own family. She said if we can create a gift for each one in her monkey barrel then we would probably take care of the personalities in most families.

Thinking about my own functionally dysfunctional group…I think she is right! Here’s what we came up with:

For The Dogs: (Bodeen, Sam, Otis and Champ): Otis’ Cheesy Dog Treats

Please visit redcrossblood.org and use the sponsor code “butter”, or call 1-800-REDCROSS (1-800-733-2767) to make an appointment.  Each presenting donor will receive a limited edition apron signed by Paula Deen; a $40 gift card to be redeemed at Lady and Sons, Uncle Bubba’s, or Paula Deen Retail Store good from 06/15 through 06/17 only; and Lady and Sons signature gooey butter cakes in the canteen.
