Cheffy McChef

Iron Chef Michael Symon is coming and you better be ready….that’s what the Production Company told me before he arrived.  My friend Brianna, a Culinary Producer, calls these big deal chefs,“Cheffy McChefs” (always funny and slightly ironic). So last week while taping Paula’s Best Dishes, we had Chef Symon as a guest. I would be lying to you if I said I wasn’t a bit intimidated and I would also be lying if I told you I had “studied” the script ahead of time. I concentrate on one show at a time. So up until two days before, I had no idea what recipes Chef Symon sent for us to cook. I was expecting the worst (some foo foo Iron Chef menu with ingredients we wouldn’t be able to find in Savannah). And got the best! HIS MOM’S LASAGNA!!!! Okay, this guy can’t be all bad…and a LOLA BURGER (his signature burger with cheese, egg, bacon, spicy ketchup and pickled onions on an English muffin)...now, I want to kiss him on the lips!

Cheffy McChef? Not a chance!  He was a dream to work with and Paula adored him. So warm, friendly and fun even on Advil since he was suffering from a terrible toothache that day.  I’ll take a Cheffy McChef in the kitchen any day!
