Chocolate and flowers are the most typical “go to” Valentine’s Day treats.  But your sweetie is not typical!  Make him or her feel extra special this year by thinking outside of the chocolate box.  Decadent sweet treats made from scratch are a sure fire way to anyone’s heart, so this Valentines Day whip up one of these delicious desserts from Paula Deen’s kitchen.

Cousin Johnny’s Red Velvet Whoopie Pies

Red is the color of love and these scrumptious little red cakes will fill your sweetie with joy.  Creamy frosting squished between two fluffy cakes, this dessert will be sure to please.

Paula’s Sugared Rose Parade Layer Cake

This cake is a real showstopper!  It’s the flowers and dessert all in one.  Beautiful sugared rose pedals adorn the outside of a red and white-layered cake.  Take the time to make this masterpiece; it will make them feel so special.

Lemon Lavender Gooey Butter Cakes

This dessert is so easy to make.  Sweet and ooey-gooey, the floral lavender and tart lemon are a wonderful combination.

Strawberry Cannoli Parfaits

A fun twist on the Italian classic this dessert tastes as good as it looks.  Layers of creamy ricotta and whip cream, crunchy amoretti cookies, and sweet strawberries make for an irresistable sweet treat.  And it is so easy to make!!

White Chocolate Lemon Trifle

White chocolate isn’t really chocolate right? So this one is still outside the box…. Creamy and tart is this dessert satisfies all your senses. 
Topped with candied lemon peels for an extra special touch.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Ice Cream Sandwich

Who doesn’t love a peanut butter and jelly sandwich? This dessert is a delicious variation of the childhood favorite.  Homemade strawberry ice cream (you can always sub store bought to save on time) topped with strawberry preserves and sandwiched between two salty and sweet peanut butter cookies.  You won’t be able to stop at one.

I have seen the show where Paula and Bobbie made the pies. At the time I wasn't able to get the receipe, so, boyhowdy I am sure gonna make them now!
