Sometimes the best recipes just happen by accident. Our Ground Beef and Baked Beans Casserole is one of those…a delicious accident!
Y’all, we had ourselves a backyard BBQ a number of years ago and just about all the ingredients in this recipe were leftovers from that party. We threw them all together in a casserole dish the next day, topped it with some bacon and “Boom Goes The Dynamite”...a new Deen Brother’s classic! Truth be told, there might have been a splash or two of the champagne of beers in the original casserole!
Nonstick cooking spray
2 tablespoons vegetable oil or olive oil
2 large onions, finely chopped (2 cups)
1 pound ground beef
2 15-ounce cans Boston-style baked beans
2 medium tomatoes, finely chopped (1 cup)
1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 1/4 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
5 slices bacon
Preheat oven to 350°F. Coat a 2-quart casserole dish with cooking spray; set aside.
In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the onion; cook about 5 minutes or until softened. Add the beef; cook about 10 minutes or until brown, breaking meat up with a fork as it cooks.
In a large bowl, combine the beef mixture with the remaining ingredients except the bacon; mix well. Pour beef mixture into the prepared casserole; arrange the bacon slices on top. Cover with a lid or aluminum foil. Bake about 45 minutes or until thick and bubbly. Uncover dish and preheat broiler. Broil for 1 to 2 minutes or until the bacon is crisp.
Servings: 8 to 10

Hi Mrs.Deen my name is Crawford Moore a person who has been trough a lot in life. No one wants to give me a chance to show my greatness. Because I am a felon. I was raised in a life of crime and has since changed. I am afraid because I can not get a job due to my past. I have five wonderful kids that I can't support due to this. And I have no other choice but to live wrong because no one wants to help for my changes. I have gotten myself an education and all. Need help... Sincerely Crawford Moore 224 321 7466

YEA! I am so pleased that you are not letting the world chose your path. Southern women to southern women, were too strong for that. See ya and many prayers, Cynthia Scoggins
