In Case You Missed It

By

Hey y’all!

It’s been a busy week in the Deen family. Bobby and Jamie have been making the rounds showing y’all how to cook up some delicious summer time meals. Meanwhile, I chatted with the good folks at Extra. In case you missed it, here’s what we’ve been cooking up!

On the first, Bobby and Jamie visited our good friends at The Chew where they cooked a delicious and healthy BBQ Chicken Summer Salad. They used chicken instead of pork to keep it light, and put it over a salad rather than on a roll. This dish is still full of flavor though.

On July 5th, Bobby and Jamie were on The Kitchen on the Food Network. They whipped up a delicious Molasses Grilled London Broil with a Chopped Grilled Summer Salad. I just love everything off the grill in the summer.

I’m so proud of my boys. After all this running around, it was great to spend the holiday with my boys. Hope y’all had a great weekend.

Paula Deen - As a young girl growing up in Albany, Georgia, Paula Deen never dreamed she would become an American icon. As a young mother, Paula was living the American dream — married to her high school sweetheart and raising two adorable boys — when tragedy struck. Her parents died, her marriage failed and she began a prolonged battle with agoraphobia. With her boys in their teens and her family near homelessness, Paula took her last $200, reached deep inside her soul and started The Bag Lady, a home-based catering company that marked the start of Deen's professional cooking career. With sons Jamie and Bobby delivering lunch-and-love-in-a-bag, beginning in June 1989, Paula turned her life around by sharing what she knew best, traditional Southern cooking.
