Here in Savannah, we love to picnic! We’re lucky that we can enjoy a meal outdoors for just about all twelve months…minus one or so that the sand gnats have claimed as their own. This week across the nation families like yours and ours will be sharing meals and memories at 4th of July picnics. Be a star at your 4th of July picnic when you bring one of these spectacular desserts!

Just read your book - couldn't put it down...now I truly know why America loves you: You're Family. Loved every page of it!! Thank you for being you...

I have made your strawberry cake numerous times and received huge compliments. Sometimes I bake and freeze enough layers for 2 cakes which ymakes them very handy for a quick dessert. I have used just 1 layer few times if I do not need a big cake. This is probably my all-time favorite cake!! Thanks Paula for a great recipe!! Sandy

Paula: I think what I love most about your show is the true enjoyment we see on your face as you cook with your family. Segments with Jamie, Bobby and Michael are truly my favorites. I love it when my family gets in the kitchen to cook with me and that is what warms my heart so much when I see you cook with the men in your life. Your love for them and their love for you is so very evident.

Hello Paula, I have a question, on some of your shows you have green plates that are bordered in Dragonflies. Can you please tell me where I can purchase a set of these plates? Thanks so much!
By Sherry Schriber on July 02, 2010
Paula,
I had the pleasure of dining at your restaurant in Savannah last year while visiting from the UK and it was a meal to be remembered. Great food.
Bless you.

These desserts sound wonderful but here in Phoenix we don’t do a lot of baking in July. The air conditioning works hard enough without adding the oven heat. Can you recommend a non-baked summer dessert besides the Not Yo Mama’s Banana Pudding? ( I already do a banana pie with a graham cracker crust that everyone likes) Thanks for all the recipes and fun you share with us! You remind me so much of my aunt Iris in Texas.

Hi Paula,
My husband and I just returned from a beautiful Alaskan cruise. One day my dream is to go on one of your cruises! It would be spectacular to cruise with you, not to mention, be able to meet you in person. Love your shows, recipes, humor, and especially your love of family and people in general.

Paula - I wish you could know how much you help some of us in ways other than in the kitchen. I’ve had a pretty crummy couple of days. When I opened my e-mail today, there was my Paula Deen newsletter. Not only is it filled with things I can’t wait to read about and make, it’s just plain pretty to look at! I could feel myself relax, and let my attitude change. Thank you, Paula, for all you are and do!
