Ingredients:
3 cups cake flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 large eggs
1/2 cup fat-free milk
1/4 cup reduced-fat sour cream
Grated zest of 1 lemon
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
1/2 cup prepared lemon curd
1 1/2 cups sugar

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 325°F. Spray a 10-inch Bundt pan with nonstick spray.

Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl until blended; set aside. Whisk the eggs in a medium bowl until frothy. Whisk in the milk, sour cream, and lemon zest. With an electric mixer on medium speed, beat the butter and lemon curd until smooth and creamy, about 1 minute. Gradually add the sugar and beat until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Reduce the speed to low. Alternately add the flour mixture and the milk mixture, beginning and ending with the flour mixture and beating just until blended.

Scrape the batter into the pan. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean,
55 – 60 minutes. Do not overbake. Let cool in the pan on a rack 10 minutes. Remove the cake from the pan and let cool completely on the rack.

I like the ingredients in your pound cake recipe. I plan to bake this over the holidays. My one question is about the lemon curd. Do you have a recipe for this or do I make my own OR buy it already made?

Hi Carmela, The recipe should call for 1 cup of sugar and 3/4 cup of a milk. Hope this helps!

I loved this recipe but I have a question about the peach cobbler recipe. I have your book "Paula Deen's Kitchen Classics". I also printed out the one on TV. One says 1 cup of sugar and 3/4 cup of milk where the one on TV says 3/4 cup of sugar and 1 cup of milk. Which one is correct?? Please I want to try this recipe. I love all your recipes!

Great cake. I made a sugar free (using Ideal Sweetener) Lemon Curd and it was great. A keeper for sure. Next time I think I'll try using Ideal in the cake mix as well.. maybe half sugar and half Ideal. Thanks for sharing this recipe smile

You can normally find lemon curd in the jams and jellies department of your local grocery or specialty food store.

I love the "heavy" pound cake and I can't wait to try this one. I'm so excited I got to mark 1 thing off my "bucket list". My daughter took me to "The Lady & Sons" in Suvannah GA. It was everything I expectected and more=-) I have never eaten so much in my life. It was AWSOME! Is the recipe for those mashed potatoes in one of your cook books if so which one? I've been craving them ever since. Love hugs and Blessings, Karen Hunsucker

I am excited about this new lighter never fail pound cake. But you don't know me. YOu could make the cake, I could be in the same room and it would turn out flat.....I will let you know if it fails. Thanks for sharing this with us.
