Hi Paula. I agree with all who are behind you here. Being a very brittle type 1 diabetic, I can gofrom 40 to 400 in less then an hour. I am on novolog 4 times a day and lantus at bedtime. Never any rhyme or reason to it. When I was diagnosed I lived back east in Connecticut. About 5 years after I was diagnosed the Joslin Diabetic center opened a satalitte in the hospital where I lived. I volunteered there and was of the first patients to be seen by thwe doctor. He was from the center and was the top physian from the neighboring state. When I moved to Michiga, there was no center. I have a great doctor, but I knew she didn't buy everything I told her. On one of my several hospital visits, I had been discharged and was waiting for my friend to come pick me up. I was ready to go at 1 and didn't get out of there until 4. I had lunch and she got a good look at what I had been telling her. I had been there 3 days with nothing other then what I should have had. My sugar was high at lunch and just kept going up all afternoon. I had enough novolog to down a horse LOL Finally she let me go and within a half hour of leaving it was down to 207 LOL So please don't take these people who think they "know it all" with a grain of salt. You do what you need to do. The best advice I got from the diatitions was, have what you want, just use moderation. I still bounce, am on carb counting, so I can eat what I want and adjust my shots. It is no worse then it has ever been in 22 years.

Oh, Paula. Dogs and cats living together, mass histeria. Paula, you're great, kyour recipes are great..and if anyone can't responsibilitiy for their own life and health then get out of the room. I'm a great cook and "good without butter, salt, and chcolate, . Your show is", " Paula Dean", not Skinny show. You are still tops in my book. I will watch your show as long as it's on;,. Maybe I should start recording it..You know that all the hype is just that, hype..for people who don't really know how to writ something interesting so the;y just glom onto silly stuff making somthing out of nothing . They just haven't been down south and heard the wonderful soft voices and tenderness in the personalities. Living up here for so many years just makes me miss the south all the more. Love to you and yours. JV
