Y’all if I didn’t tell you my honey was actually pear honey, you would swear the bees were the ones to make it and not me! This time of year, my two little pear trees that sit just outside my kitchen window, are heavy with fruit. I actually call them my money trees, but that’s a whole ‘nother story. Putting up my pear honey is especially important this year because my beautiful niece, Corrie, is getting married and the pear honey is part of the reception menu. Aunt Peggy is here visiting and I’m hoping we can get at least a dozen jars from this year’s crop. If we don’t that’s okay too, because just spending time with my aunt Peggy is enough to make any day perfect for me.

We have 2 pear trees. Looking forward to making the Pear Honey next season when the trees are loaded. Wish I'd know about this recipe this year. Sounds delish!!!

I have been searching for Pear Honey for a long long time. My Aunt Ruby who has been gone now for many years made it and gave it as gifts every Christmas. Is there any way to make this with out using 10 cups of sugar? I am a diabetic and that would not be a great thing for me. Thank you Paul for this old family favorite!

We have 5 pear trees and they are always full of big pears. I made this pear honey in 2008 when my sister from Flordia was visiting and we love it, have gave lots of jars away as gifts.
