To some, chicken during mealtime can be as bland and dreary as the cold and dismal months we have just witnessed. Let’s face it, there’s nothing particularly exciting about this white meat staple. However, if we were here to tell you that chicken has to be the typically boring meat-with-two-sides dinner dish, we’d be wrong. Way wrong.
The truth is, chicken’s naturally mild flavor makes it the perfect blank canvas for flavor as a suppertime protein. From salads to casseroles, it is easy to find a use for chicken in nearly any savory recipe you can muster. For a twist on a tradition, try one of these five great ways to freshen up your fowl and spring into a whole new season of flavor!
Sesame Chicken Strips If you have kids, then chicken strips are probably a predictable standby for you. However, when you coat your chicken strips with bread crumbs and sesame seeds, and bake them, you can create a healthier meal than the standard fried standby.
Chicken Salad Sliders When you’ve got a crowd to feed, coming up with a recipe that’s both painless and filling can be tricky. Turn to these mini sliders and give your guests to really sink their teeth into.
Cherry Balsamic Grilled Stuffed Chicken Breasts Feelin’ a little fancy? Mix up these flavors for a romantic date night, or just a special dinner for a weekend. Serve these grilled stuffed chicken breasts with a light bed of greens on the side for a complete meal.
Lemon Pepper and Rosemary Roasted Chicken Looking for a little fresh kick to brighten your flavor palette? This roasted chicken is better than any store-bought rotisserie you can find in stores!
Buffalo Chicken Livers with a Blue Cheese Dipping Sauce We know you’ve heard of buffalo chicken wings, but have you ever tried a buffalo chicken liver? You will love them, and the dipping sauce is the perfect side to cool you off!
