    Southern Collards with Cornmeal Dumplings

You’ll want to make these cornmeal dumplings all year round, so be sure to make extras.

    Spicy Black-Eyed Peas

Paula makes these black eyed peas every year to promise good fortune in the New Year.

Paula's menu sounds like what I always have. Have had it most of my 73 years and continue to do, as do my daughters. Only difference is that I'm not crazy about collards and substitute turnips. Still yummmm.

My mother and father always said to have pork and saurkraut for News Years dinner for a good year. It seems it always worked for them. So I have been doing it for 43years now. My children do the same.
