Paula’s Chickens

I have been wantin’ chickens for the last two years…and all my life. Those who spend much time around me know I always say when I retire I want to sell eggs out of an old truck on the side of the road. Since I live on a road where people are headin’ out to the beach, I don’t really know what those folks would want with a dozen fresh eggs getting hot in the back seat, but that doesn’t matter. It’s what I’ve been dreaming about. Well y’all, I’m tickled pink to be telling you my dream might just be becoming a reality. I got myself some rescue chickens a couple of months ago. Now, if I can just get these girls to start laying more eggs. I wanted y’all to see my sassy new chicken coop, so I asked Jamie Prescott to shoot this video.  I’m happy to report to y’all that since then, the hens have been laying a lot more eggs. On Easter Sunday, I gathered 7 eggs! Enjoy the tour and I’ll keep you posted on how the girls are doing.

  • June 15: American Red Cross Blood Drive in Savannah

    This time, the drive will be held at three locations:  The Lady and Sons and the Inn at Ellis Square from 9am-5pm and Uncle Bubba’s Oyster House from 12pm-5pm. Please visit redcrossblood.org and use the sponsor code “butter”, or call 1-800-REDCROSS (1-800-733-2767) to make an appointment.  Each presenting donor will receive a limited edition apron signed by Paula Deen; a $40 gift card to be redeemed at Lady and Sons, Uncle Bubba’s, or Paula Deen Retail Store good from 06/15 through 06/17 only; and Lady and Sons signature gooey butter cakes in the canteen.
