One of the many hats I wear is a pith helmet. I wear it when we’re taping Paula’s Best Dishes (where I serve as Head Food Stylist) to protect me from the sun and the wilds of my surroundings. If you aren’t catching my less than subtle nuances, just think about having 20 people in YOUR kitchen from sun up to sun down everyday. Of all my jobs, this one is the toughest, most demanding and possibly the most rewarding.
This week wrapped Season 9 of Paula’s Best Dishes. The photo above was taken this past Friday, after our last day of filming. The hunt was over and we captured another season of shows for your delicious pleasure…come 2011. We may look a little worse for wear in this photo, but somehow we are still happy to be together for one more night. It’s a special group and I know Paula feels comfort in their familiar faces. When I look through the tiny holes of my pith helmet I kind of feel the comfort too. Mostly, I just feel scared.
Eat something homemade and tame something wild,
Libbie

I love the show - Paula & her sons are out of this world when it comes to cooking. Lived in Savannah for last 2 years of high school at the old dear Savannah High in ‘65. Been to Savannah but was always to late to get into the restaurant. Live down in Woodbine GA now so not too far and I will get there one day and be on time. Take care and have a great summer!!
