Homemade Gifts in Jars Made with Love

By Paula Deen

I always say the best gifts I ever receive are those made by hand with love. If they’re from the kitchen then even better! I’ve been lucky enough to share many meals in kitchens all across the United States and I can tell you first hand…the kitchen is where the love is.

Last year I offered up all kinds of Gifts From The Kitchen. Gifts to fill a belly, make your skin soft and make your dog happy! Y’all, this year I added seven new recipes and packaged them up in mason jars! Just a ribbon and tag around the rim and your gift of love from the kitchen is ready to go. Share some love this holiday season without breaking the bank.

Paula’s Holiday Gifts in Jars…made with love:
Sweet Tea with Lemon Sugar Scrub
Paula’s Pink Taffy
Cinnamon Star Drawer Sachets
Vanilla Coffee Syrup
Lemon Fig Refrigerator Preserves
Cheesy Dog Treats
Simple S’mores Bars

I buy your candles regularly, blueberry tart is my favorite. It fills my house with the smell of blueberry pancakes, very yummy... A little disappointed this month. I am on a low budget and your candles are one of my luxury items I buy for myself. The three I have bought in the 20 oz jars this month the same I do every month are not burning well and do not fill the room with the fabulous aroma?... Instead of the whole candle burning equally down only the center is burning? and no smell... I am really bummed out for I love your candles and I am really disappointed...

Hi Paula, I am an avid fan of your candles, so I cannot understand the negative comments about them; however, my favorite is the pineapple upside down biscuit (hard to find though). I have tried the jelly roll candle (small size), and it didn't burn well, but the large candle burns perfectly until all is gone. I suggest to anyone purchasing a Paula Deen candle to buy a bigger size than the little small one, and you won't be sorry. By the way, at Wal-Mart the bigger one only only cost $4.97 (pineapple upside down biscuit). Bless you and yours!

I just bought Paula Deen's candles, and I am thoroughly disappointed! They don't burn very well and barely give off a scent! I figured they'd be awesome, since its Paula Deen and all, and more expensive than other candles, but NOPE. They totally suck. Steer clear of them, NOT worth it!!!

Gotta tell you I love this idea of making homemade gifts. I made your homemade vanilla extract last year for a women's retreat and it was a big hit.

I found the Creme Brulee scented candles first at Lakeside.com last year. Then, they were out for 6 months(they only carry them for Christmas). I went in search of them and stumbled onto some stuff in Micheal's craft store. I found candles, wax tarts, and even the room air spray. I bought all they had. I haven't found this scent at all in the local Walmart. I thought for sure there would be something here on Paula's website. Nothing...For this to be the best smell ever, it sure is hard to find. What's up, Paula. We love it, put it out there.

I got a case of Paula Deen Creme Brulee candles a year or so ago. I am out of them now. Can anyone tell me where I can find more. Online says Walmart sells them, but they don't have any in stock.

I am very upset. I purchaseda paula deen blueberry cobller candle from Wal-Mart exactly two weeks ago and I have burned it every other day for the last two weeks. The candle is now completely burned out to the bottom of the cast iron and I have tons of canlde around the castiron unburned.

I LOVE the home made gifts your offering. The Pie edge suggestions are GREAT for the holidays.

By the way, the new Paula Deen Restruant at Horseshoe Casino is Wonderful. Food is out of this world.  I won’t be there often, seeing as my resolution is loosing weight, but I’m sure if I’m on a winning streak.. I’ll INDULGE at Deen’s..
Have a wonderful Christmas Holiday Paula.

Imagine the smile on my face when the picture w/this article opened up and not only was my name on one of the labels (Lynn), but right next to it was my son’s name (Brandon).  Brandon is currently on his first deployment w/the US Navy, and will not be at home w/us for Christmas for the first time.  Just wanted you to know this brought a smile to my heart.

Thankyou for the decorative pie edge techniques.  Which brings me to another issue.  I love all types of cheeses except for the Greek feta which is Goats milk.  I know that there are other people that feel the same as I do.  I grew up eating Feta made from Sheeps milk.  It is almost the same taste except much milder.  It is called Bulgarian Feta.  It can be used in the same manner.  Spinach Pie or Pita is much nicer because the Bulgarian Feta does not overwelm the product.  It is a little more expensive but oh so much better tasting.

Anything in a mason jar makes a great gift. It only takes a litte decorating to make it so appealing. I have had success with a homemade hot cocoa mix that included instructions attached with a card on a ribbon.

Wow, every year I make your Peppermint Bark, this year I will do the Simple S’mores Bars as well smile Thank you for this wonderful idea - slowly but surely my friends and family are becoming Paula Deen fans just like myself!
