I always say the best gifts I ever receive are those made by hand with love. If they’re from the kitchen then even better! I’ve been lucky enough to share many meals in kitchens all across the United States and I can tell you first hand…the kitchen is where the love is.
Last year I offered up all kinds of Gifts From The Kitchen. Gifts to fill a belly, make your skin soft and make your dog happy! Y’all, this year I added seven new recipes and packaged them up in mason jars! Just a ribbon and tag around the rim and your gift of love from the kitchen is ready to go. Share some love this holiday season without breaking the bank.

I'll be watching on New Year's Day the parade for the Rose Bowl, and cheering on the Badgers in the football game. Wave to me, Paula!! This year, I made homemade hot cocoa mix and packaged it in 6 Christmas plastic containers from WalMart (3 for $3.00). My card-making program helped me make stickers for each with ingredients and directions. Added 2 ceramic mugs and a bag of mini-marshmallows and put it all in gift bags for my kids' and their spouses. The mix included non-dairy dry milk powder, non-dairy coffee creamer powder, unsweetened cocoa powder, instant chocolate fudge pudding, and sugar (Splenda in the one for diabetics). Don't remember where I got the recipe, though. Hope they like it!!

I grew up with Chocolate Gravy, as did my kids. All my nephews and kids in my neighborhood would c ome down to my house when i fixed it and eat. I even have a nephew that called me years later when he grew up and moved out for the recipe, That was fun sence i never measure. So 1 year after my own children moved out. I got pretty tin boxes and made the mixture up for them and gave it to them for Christmas. They loved it. So, this year I plan on doing the same thing. Although, I mix it up for them during the year also. They always like when I fix them a batch of 1 their childhood favorite's. Thanks Paula, Eva p.s. I told everyone i know I want any thing Paula Deen this year,, haha Love ya Girl...

I make jars similar to this for church. I call them hugs and kisses jars. They are sold for donations to our womens/youth missions. I make small gift cards to put on them that say "Created for missions and purchased with Love." I use mason jars and depending on the time of year... for instance if it is Easter I use jellybean cloth, I cut circles out of cloth and put them under the lid. Then I wrap a small ribbon around them with the gift card attached to it. Great fund raisers!!!

I LOVE the home made gifts your offering. The Pie edge suggestions are GREAT for the holidays.
By the way, the new Paula Deen Restruant at Horseshoe Casino is Wonderful. Food is out of this world. I won’t be there often, seeing as my resolution is loosing weight, but I’m sure if I’m on a winning streak.. I’ll INDULGE at Deen’s..
Have a wonderful Christmas Holiday Paula.

Imagine the smile on my face when the picture w/this article opened up and not only was my name on one of the labels (Lynn), but right next to it was my son’s name (Brandon). Brandon is currently on his first deployment w/the US Navy, and will not be at home w/us for Christmas for the first time. Just wanted you to know this brought a smile to my heart.

Thankyou for the decorative pie edge techniques. Which brings me to another issue. I love all types of cheeses except for the Greek feta which is Goats milk. I know that there are other people that feel the same as I do. I grew up eating Feta made from Sheeps milk. It is almost the same taste except much milder. It is called Bulgarian Feta. It can be used in the same manner. Spinach Pie or Pita is much nicer because the Bulgarian Feta does not overwelm the product. It is a little more expensive but oh so much better tasting.

Anything in a mason jar makes a great gift. It only takes a litte decorating to make it so appealing. I have had success with a homemade hot cocoa mix that included instructions attached with a card on a ribbon.
