Here We Go Again!

Feeding people is in my veins. I’ve made so many hoecakes, collards, and fried chicken that I could probably do it in my sleep. I remember when my Aunt Peggy and I would whip up those Bag Lady lunch boxes at all hours of the morning, day and night. But I just loved it! I never get sick of it- not once!

So, when the folks at Harrah’s approached me to open another buffet at Horseshoe Southern Indiana, I just knew it was what I had to do. I’ve been itchin’ tell y’all all about it, and now the secret is out!

On September 3rd, Michael, Bobby, and I are heading up to Elizabeth, Indiana for the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Paula Deen Buffet, and let me tell you, my mouth is already watering thinking about all of the fixin’s that are going to be served there.

Here’s just a taste of what you’ll be able to sink your teeth into on the buffet:
Savannah Seafood Gumbo
Chicken Pot Pie
Southern Fried Chicken
Cheeseburger Meatloaf
The Lady’s Cheesy Mac
Bubba’s Chargrilled Oysters
Shrimp and Grits
Low Country Boil
Hash Brown Casserole
Fried Green Tomato & Egg Hollandaise
Oven Fried Potato Wedges
And of course, more fruit and veggies than you can shake a stick at!

I've tried making homemade biscuits before they always came out hard. I tried yours today and lets just say for today my diet is gone. I'm in my bed eating biscuits. I made a full dinner but I haven't eaten one drop of food only biscuits. This is bad real bad. But good. Thanks Paula you rock.....

We were lucky enough to stumble onto a Paula Deene buffet in Mississippi. It was without a doubt the best meal we ever ate; hoe-cakes, fried green tomatoes, fried chicken, on and on. Happy to see you back.

Ever consider coming to Tuscaloosa? We need a good place to eat here. All we have is either over priced can food or Specialty foods. Good ole homecooking place would be great. I hae most of your cook books and my Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinners are completley Paula Dean. Everyone thinks Im a great cook. Not to worry, I tell them where I get my recipes:) Hope to see you in Tuscaloosa, AL soon!!!

Hi Paula,
I was so excited when my husband and I were in Savannah last fall and got to eat at Our Lady & Sons for your Sunday brunch buffet…the best fried chicken (being from Ky that is saying alot since we know our fried chicken here), cheesy mac and collards I have ever eaten. Everything was so delious and cooked to perfection!  So needless to say I was thrilled when we got to go to your new buffet nearer our home in Indiana, but was so very disappointed at the quality. Fried chicken needed to be crispier, cheesy mac was dry and barely warm, collards had no taste or seasoning at all and the hoecakes were swimming in grease from the grill. The selection of items was wonderful and the deserts were great!  So I sure thought you better check things out and I do hope everthing can be corrected, as I would love to go on a regular basis and take family and friends in the future.  Thanks for your attention to this matter and best of luck in all you do. I look forward to hearing good reviews about Paula Deene’s Buffet in the near future.

My wife is a big fan of Paula Deen and last night we drove to the Buffet in Elizabeth, IN with a friend (also a fan) who’d been to her restaurants in Savannah.  We weren’t disappointed.  The buffet was extensive and the quality excellent (our friend though it was superior to her buffet in Savannah; we had the seafood buffet which, even at 29.95 was a great value.  We’ll definitely be back.

I love the buffet in Indiana!! Have been 2 times in 3 weeks!! If you can’t find something there you like then you have a problem. I have been on a Sunday which is the normal buffet and then we went on a Saturday which is seafood night. Impressed both times, glad you came our way!! Put some shirts in the store with the Indiana location on it - that’s the only thing I noticed you needed, we bought a coffee cup that had it on it. Thanks!

I’m soooo excited because we are getting a Paula Deen Buffet at Harrah’s in Cherokee, NC. I hear it is open but with limited items until they get it finished. I can’t wait until it is completed and I can enjoy every bite. I love the one at Harrah’s in Tunica!!

Hi Paula, Watch you on TV from the very beginning. Just moved to Savannah in February of 2010,and could not wait to get to your Resturant. I had plan to go there for my Birthday,but it was the day I moved so it was impossible. I finally got there before the week was out, and it was worth the wait. I can’t wait to go back. I love the buffett but can’t eat a lot, so I will have to make other choices to go more often. I still watch you on TV every day and will be trying a lot of your recipe this fall. I just notice you are opening a resturant in Indiana. I am going to call my friend right now to tell her about it, she live 15 minutes away. Thanks Paula and sons for the contrIbution you have made to the food world.

I am so excited about the new Buffet.  My husband and another couple are heading to the buffet in a couple of weeks.  I have been to Savannah 2 times.  Eaten at the Lady and Sons once and Uncle Bubba’s twice.  The food is awesome.  I just wish the my kids and I could have gotten down over labor day to see you Paula.  We love, as my 4 year old would say, watchin the cookin shows.

Dear Paula,
    After much hype both radio and print I decided to take my son to your newest restaurant.  We were celebrating his 34th birthday.  On Saturday, Sept.4
we visited.  Perhaps, you should have stayed another day for our experience was not what we had anticipated.  Most of the food on the buffet was not labeled which was unfortunate. The crablegs
were pretty tasteless and about every other one was not cooked.  The mac and cheese (which was just brought out)was ice cold and I sent it back and my server was nice enough to bring me a hot
dish.  I waited in line about 15 minutes at the
main food bar only to get to your fried chicken and there were only 3 wings left in the bin.  I asked the man cutting the prime rib and he said some would be out shortly.  However, with people behind me I could not wait also the mashed potatoes were empty as well.
    I arrived back to our table and my son ventured to the main buffet line.  When he came back he brought me some fried chicken which I took a bite and it was not cooked properly.  Very disappointing.  So I gave up on the food and tried the dessert bar wanting some key lime pie and your velvet cake.  None was to be had. 
    The reason I am writing this is that I am in retail and have been for over 40 years.  I’m sure this is not the way you want your new restaurant to display your name.

Paula i am very disappointed in the buffet at horseshoe in Elizabeth, Indiana.  I took a day off work on Friday to come to the boat for your ribbon cutting and was very excited to come back to the boat on Saturday for the Seafood buffet. The food was terrible almost everything my family ate was over salted.  I am such a huge fan of yours I just thought you needed to know the food is not being executed as you would like.  You didn’t get to where you are today cooking food like i ate on Saturday.  Sincerely, Jennifer

We just moved from Texas and my Son is a huge fan for his 12 th birthday all he wanted was to go to the new Buffet in Indiana ( where we now live)
So we loaded up today and off we went I have to say some of the Best food I have found since I moved here. The Hoe Cakes are like my mom’s made me home sick. So my son was so sad he didn’t get to see her he cooks alot of her recipes with no Help. I felt so sorry for him :( we moved left friends and now this
