Delightful Spring Sippers

Packed full of sweet flavors, these smoothies offer pure refreshment and a healthful boost of vitamins. Try them for an easy breakfast or as a great afternoon treat. You can’t go wrong with smoothies like these!

HONEYDEW-CUCUMBER MINT SMOOTHIES
Makes about 4 servings

3 cups peeled and cubed honeydew melon
1 cup chopped unpeeled English cucumber
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon chopped fresh mint
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
2 cups ice cubes
Garnish: sliced cucumber, fresh mint leaves

In the container of a blender, combine melon, cucumber, honey, mint, and lime juice; process until well blended. Add ice cubes, and process until smooth. Garnish each serving with cucumber and mint, if desired. Serve immediately.

STRAWBERRY-BANANA SMOOTHIES
Makes 6 to 8 servings

2 (10-ounce) packages frozen sliced strawberries
1 (11.3-ounce) can strawberry-banana nectar
1 large ripe banana
1 cup vanilla low-fat frozen yogurt
1 cup 1% low-fat milk

In the container of a blender, combine strawberries, nectar, banana, yogurt, and milk. Process until smooth.

SUPER-EASY TROPICAL SMOOTHIES
Makes about 6 servings

1 (16-ounce) package frozen strawberries, mangoes, and peaches
1 (11.3-ounce) can guava nectar
Garnish: fresh strawberries

In the container of a blender, combine frozen fruit and guava nectar; process until smooth. Garnish each serving with a fresh strawberry, if desired. Serve immediately.

Paula, I have a question and it is this. If I would make one of the bigger batches of smoothies that would make 6-8 servings would it be ok to freeze the extra in small containers? Thank you Nancy H. from wisconsin

Hey Paula just saw the cutest thing for an April Fool breakfast, I bet jack would get a chuckle and maybe even grown up. Take yogurt and that is the egg white part of fried egg, turn a peach half upside down and that is your yoke. the toast is pound cake slices with jam and the oj in a glass is really jello with a straw stuck in it. So adorable and cute fun Rosie in Ct. P.s. the other day I saw Sandra Lee take a funnel and showed out to use it to seperate your yolk from the wegg white, Smart, really smart.

U people keep asking for Diabetic cookbooks, there are hundreds out there and i have yet to find just one that is worth purchasing. If u are lucky there are a few good sallid and some desserts that are passable. All u have to do is use a bit of smarts and u can come up with receipes that far exceed any in those books. Smoothee's are great when u have exhausted all the other breakfast same -old -same old. Hey this is for Bobby -did u have to move to New york to find pretty girls to bring on as guests. never see your so-called girlfriend as a guest. Seems like u did better by moving to N.York. And when are we going to see Jamie;s old show again. Sure could get rid of some of Dine, Drives and Dinners with Guy and find a spot for Jamie, Sure would be a lot more enjoyable. FoodNetwork is beginning to slack behind and get downright boring come Frieday, for sure. Thank goodness we get u Paula the rest of the time.

Hi Paula, I watched your show today with Ree Drummond and I love the cast iron pans you were using. It looked like a saute pan vs the regular cast iron frying pan.
