1 pound ground turkey
1 green bell pepper diced
1 medium onion, diced
2 celery stalks, diced
2 tablespoons finely chopped pickled jalapeno peppers
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 (14 1/2-ounce) cans petite cut diced tomatoes
1 (15 1/2-ounce) can red kidney beans
1 (15-ounce) can pinto beans

2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup reduced-fat shredded cheese
1/2 cup chopped scallions
Directions:
Heat oil in large nonstick saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the turkey and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until the turkey is browned, about 6 minutes. Add the bell pepper, onion, celery, jalapeno, and garlic. Cook, stirring occasionally until vegetables are tender, about 8 minutes.
Add the tomatoes, beans, salsa, chili powder, cumin, and salt; bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer, covered, stirring occasionally, until the flavors are blended and the chili begins to thicken, about 1 hour. Serve with the cheese and scallions.

I made Bobby's lighter Turkey chili this past weekend and my husband said it's the best chili he ever had! The only thing I changed was using one can of fire roasted tomatoes and one can of the petite diced. We like spicy chili! Thanks for a great recipe that's friendly to my waistline! After losing 40 lbs in the last year, I'm not looking to gain it back but still like to eat good food!

Bobby, I love your recipes and love watching you cook with your mom. We have drawers full of your recipes. And have made many of them. We don't miss a show. It comes on 6P.M. our time. I think your mom is so funny and she sure likes her butter. Congratulations to the both of you. And of course your other brother who we enjoy seeing on the show. You have a beautiful family. Regards, June M. Johnson

I have prepaired this dish for years and found that alot of people don't like turkey, so I use ground chuck but when it is fully cooked I drain and rinse it with hot water very well then put it back in my pan and continue with the recipe. Just something that you to try for those that don't care for turkey. Rinsing off the meat with hot water is the key, you'll wash away almost all of the fat that has cooked off the meat. HAPPY COOKING !!

I just made Bobby’s chili recipe and suffice it to say..it does NOT suck!! Really good!!! I am not a huge fan of paula deen (but my mom is) and somehow I got to this website and recipe and since I am in the middle of losing weight I was looking for something lighter to make but still have heartiness to it and flavor and this has both!!!

I made Bobby’s Chili for Super Bowl Sunday and it was a big hit! It was the easiest recipe. My husband BBQ’d and later I chopped up some Louisana hot links and put it in the chili…it was yummy! Thank you!
