An Exciting New Year At Pauladeen.com

By Libbie Summers, Senior Food Editor

It’s a new year here at Pauladeen.com and I am so excited about the things we have planned for 2010! We’ll continue some of our most favorite features like Southern Recipes and Ruminations, Bobby Lightens It Up, Apron Strings Recipes, Best Dishes and The Culinary Coward and add many new features for the seasons. This winter you’ll want to keep checking in weekly for some of the most delicious soups and stew recipes, like this week’s Duck and Oyster Gumbo by Chef John Besh. We’ll also share with you five of Paula’s new crock pot recipes, and a wonderful economical series called Dinner Remix. In Dinner Remix, Paula makes one of her main dishes for dinner one night and turns the leftovers into a hearty soup for lunch the next day!

In February, it’s a sinful month filled with chocolate, bacon and a dreamy southern Pastry Chef, David Gaus, who shares with us one of his personal favorite desserts to make for your Valentine! What’s not to love?
Looking ahead to March, we’re finishing up a fun piece highlighting all of Savannah’s 24 Historic Squares. The fun with this is not just a small glimpse inside The Garden of Good and Evil, but each historic square has a delicious “square” recipe with it! Think decadent brownies and bars!

So many wonderful new stories and recipes as well as Jamie’s How To Videos and techniques to answer your cooking questions. A whole new recipe section will launch to include all new Paula Deen recipes as well as hundreds of new stunning food images that you told us you love so much. We’ll be adding some new user-friendly tools for sharing recipes on Facebook and Twitter as well as printing grocery lists and recipe size cards for your recipe box. We’ll also add RSS feeds to all of our fun articles so you never miss a new post!

Paula has wanted to have a Recipe of the Day sent to those who sign up for it since we started making things prettier here a few short months ago. Paula’s technical department (Phil and Lisa) tells me that will happen very soon! I can’t wait. Who doesn’t need some inspiration for dinner occasionally?

It’s an exciting year ahead. Your comments have been instrumental in helping us give you what you want. Keep them coming, because Paula Really Cares!

Eat Something Homemade!
