A Kitchen Filled with a Deep Fried Turkey and Love

I was waiting to write this week’s note until we shot our latest holiday video with Paula. I wanted to share something with you that others don’t always see, but I wasn’t quite sure what it would be. Funny how things…emotions…just hit you over the head. It wasn’t the fried turkey, holiday fixings or Brandon’s drop dead table centerpiece that gave me pause in a very long and crazy day. It was witnessing the love shared between Paula and her Aunt Peggy. 

Aunt Peggy is a spitfire! When I am 50, I hope to be as active and alive as she is at 80; not to mention drop dead darling! She brings Paula such joy when she is around. She told me yesterday that if Paula had her way she would never be allowed to leave Savannah. I wonder if she knows that if I had my way she would not be able to leave either. Watching she and Paula make a holiday meal together on camera was not only a hoot, but a true joy and a day filled with love.

I am loving the new food section that you have labored over for months and months! You have done a great job and I particularly enjoy the Apron Strings recipe section. And the Culinary Coward section is hysterical and I hope that she will be able to do them more than once a month.

Hi Libbie,
I like your little tid bits of information. I would like to see you and Mrs Paula do a cooking segment together. Christmas would be nice. Maybe something about a family tradition. Mine is breakfast on Christmas morning.  The whole works.
We always have country ham and fresh homemade sausage with lots of sage and black pepper, biscuits and gravy from scratch. I would love to meet you someday. Happy Thanks giving to all the glam squad and the Deen family and Mr. Michael.
